How Sunshine Interacts With Our Body

news-5

When you are under the natural rays of the sun, light enters through your eyes. This light then enters through our eyes, performing amazing miracles as it travels inside the brain connecting with trillions of neurotransmitters and stimulating various functions such as production of insulin in the endocrine system or serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is responsible for keeping depression at bay and proper insulin production aids in stopping the development of diabetes.

There is much scientific evidence to support the benefits of sunlight. It is no wonder that when you stop to think about the chain of events that are triggered when sunlight enters through our eyes, that it stands to reason that life threatening illness such as cancer can be stimulated into healing.

The sun is an energy system so why would it not give you all the energy your body needs to heal and rejuvenate itself? Take time and experience the wonderful benefits of sunshine.

The Best Times To Relax In The Sunshine

When planning your natural living lifestyle, take into account the best times to expose your precious body to the sunshine. If you are to listen to sound medical advice regarding sunshine then perhaps suggestions put forth by Professor Holick are worth considering when planning your daily sunshine visits.

Your skin color

How far from the Equator you live

The time of the year

The time of day

Professor Holick further states that the average African-American will need 10 times as long in the sun as a Causican and that it is best to expose yourself to the sun for a few minutes each day during the warmer months. He believes that by doing this, you will have stored up enough Vitamin D to see you through the colder months. It is interesting to note that Professor Holick tells us that once we reach the age of 60, our ability to absorb Vitamin D through exposure to sunshine will halve.

To store up enough Vitamin D to see you through winter, your aim should be to expose yourself to the wonderful rays of the sunshine between 11am and 3pm for a few minutes daily during the warmer months of the year. Then cover up if you are planning to stay outdoors.

On when the best time is to expose under sun, there are different opinions besides the suggestion from Dr Holick. Ray Kent, the founder of Our Place International, is an expert on natural health and fasting. He is also my teacher. He guided hundreds thousands people in the past 40 years. His suggestion on going into the sun is early morning or late afternoon for 5 to 20 minutes on each side per day.
